Saturday, February 6th dawned cold and snowy, but Frostfest opened its doors and dozens of vendors filled the Richmond Raceway Complex with tables loaded with ham radio gear, computers, and other items for sale. Then hundreds of hams headed in to buy new and used equipment, attend the presentations and meetings, and partake of the many activities at the hamfest.

Frostfest featured manufacturer's representatives from Yaesu and Icom, new radio dealer Austin Amateur Radio Supply, and many accessories dealers. Dozen of vendors and flea marketers plied their wares to a somewhat reduced crowd, but the hams that attended were clearly enthusiastic about the show.

Brennan Price, N4QX, the ARRL’s Chief Technology Officer, provided a keynote address, and volunteered to check QSL cards for DXCC awards. Carl Clements, W4CAC, the Virginia Section Manager, ran the ARRL State Convention meeting. The Wakefield Skywarn VE team, led by CVE Brad Price, KI4BWJ, gave thirty-five tests to twenty-nine people, including several children.
