Richmond Amateur Telecommunications Society General Membership Meeting

Meeting opened at 7:30 PM
Those present introduced themselves.
The February meeting minutes were approved as corrected to show KD4RJN as the call for Jamie Stapleton.
The treasurer was not present.
Phil reported there were about 1800 in attendance at FrostFest. Phil extended thanks to all volunteers.
Old Business:
The TS-570 radios and Pelican cases were sold at FrostFest
Patches were available for purchase.
New Business:
Jerry Williams spoke of several opportunities for volunteering for all hams throughout the year and Tillman Cuttino presented a request from the Kristen Grote Foundation Memorial 5K May 13 2006 for volunteers to provide communications services. A signup sheet was circulated. Use of the 146.88 W4RAT will be made available for special events of this type.
The Virginia QSO party runs from 13:00 EST 3/18/06 to 21:00 EST 3/19/06, all were encouraged to participate.
On 4/21/06 show and tell night for the new ICOM-746 radios and on 4/22/06 an operating day will occur.
New members:
Carter Dudley, KD4GAO, Richard Patterson, K4BKT, Thomas Davis, KR4WZ, Francis Burns, WA4FQI, Charles Troutman, N4EHD, and Theresa Williams, KD4 ITR, all of whom joined at FrostFest, motion to accept Roy Davis, seconded by Phil Davis, voted and passed.
Program:
Grayle Hundley presented a DVD Magnetic Storm from the PBS series NOVA. The film dealt with the reversal of the earth's magnetic field.
Meeting adjourned at 9:13 PM
