In amateur radio, an Elmer is an experienced operator who provides guidance and support to newcomers or those seeking to improve their skills. The term is unique to the ham radio community and refers to a mentor who helps others navigate the hobby, both before and after obtaining a license.
Our Elmer Team provides both one-off technical assistance and long-term mentorship of new and old hams alike. A small roster of volunteers bring a vast background encompassing a wide range of ham radio topics. Whether you need help troubleshooting high SWR or you're looking for advice when purchasing a new radio, our Elmer Team is ready to help.
You do not need to be a club member (or even a licensed ham) to take advantage of our services. New and prospective hams are encouraged to check out the content on our Get Licensed, Get on the Air, Get Answers, Get Involved, and Get Connected pages.
