Public Service Committee

Our Public Service Committee organizes ham radio support of various community events throughout the year, including the Sports Backers/Ukrop's Monument Avenue 10K, Sports Backers Richmond Marathon, and Bike MS Colonial Crossroads.  Our club members also provide communications support for the Virginia Special Olympics Summer Games.  The Public Service Committee provides basic training for new volunteers and hams of all skill levels are encouraged to participate.

We leverage several local hardware caches including a fleet of DMR portables, a portable DMR+AREDN comms trailer w/mast and other assets provided by Vertical Resource, MURS transceivers for event staff, and various local analog and digital repeater systems.
