Special Offer for New Hams: Qualifying new members can join RATS for FREE. Open to amateurs of any license class who submit a membership application within 180 days of their initial FCC Technician license grant. Renews in October 2026 at the regular rate (currently $35/year). Online application and electronic billing are required. During the government shutdown, we may be temporarily unable to validate license issue dates for members applying for our $0 New Ham Rate membership. Applicants may be asked to provide a copy of their FCC license or CSCE. We welcome new members who have passed their test, have a CSCE, and are waiting for the FCC to reopen and process their license application. These members will be at our non-voting Associate Membership level until their FCC license is granted.

Pick your Membership Type
RATS offers 3 types of membership: Individual, Family, and Associate.
Step 2
Apply Online
Fill out our membership application. If applying for a family membership, be sure to include call signs and emails for all eligible family members.
Step 3
Pay Dues
If your membership type requires payment of dues, you must submit payment in full before your application will be considered.
Step 4
Wait for Approval
Our bylaws require all applications go before the membership for a vote. You do not need to be present (but we'd love to meet you!)
The RATS membership year runs from October 1 to September 30. Dues are not prorated, however, applications received on or after summer Field Day will be automatically extended to the end of the following membership year at no additional charge.
